PlusOptix is a company specializing in the development and production of devices for eye health diagnostics, specifically for measuring refractive errors in both children and adults. The goal of PlusOptix is to provide fast and accurate vision measurements that help with the early diagnosis of eye problems, especially in children.
How does PlusOptix S12 work?
The PlusOptix S12 works by measuring the refraction of the eyes using infrared light. When the patient looks into the device, the light reflects off the back of the eye, and based on this, the device evaluates what type of eye condition the patient has. All results are processed automatically and displayed on the device's screen within seconds.

Refractive Error Detection:
The PlusOptix S12 detects different types of refractive errors, such as myopia, hypermetropia, and astigmatism.
Myopia (nearsightedness):

What is it? Myopia is a condition where a person has difficulty seeing distant objects. Light rays focus in front of the retina instead of properly on the retina.

How does it appear in results? People with myopia will have negative diopter values (e.g., -1.00 D, -2.00 D).
Hypermetropia (farsightedness):

What is it? Hypermetropia is a condition where a person has difficulty seeing up close. Light rays focus behind the retina, causing blurry near vision.

How does it appear in results? People with hypermetropia will have positive diopter values (e.g., +1.00 D, +2.00 D).
Astigmatism:

What is it? Astigmatism is a condition where the cornea or lens of the eye is irregularly shaped, causing blurry or distorted vision at all distances. Instead of a single focus point, the eye has multiple focal points.
Amblyopia (Lazy Eye):

What is it? Amblyopia is a condition where one eye does not develop proper vision, even though there is no physical obstacle preventing sight. This condition typically develops during childhood when the visual system is still forming, and if not detected in time, it can lead to permanent vision problems.
